hundred這個詞只有兩種用法。第一種，hundred作名詞時便要加s，后面常與of連用，表示非準確數，例如，hundreds of students，數以百計的學生。第二種，hundred作形容詞時便不用加s，例如，two hundred students，兩百個學生。

hundred與hundreds還有hundreds of有什么區別？

習語中“hundred”并非表示精確數字，往往強調數量之多，如：

本句中“hundred”指的縣或郡是基層行政單位 （subdivision of county or shire，having its own court），大抵相當于鄉或鎮。據Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable，最初可能是”100 hides”組成一個基層行政單位，因此有了 ”hundred”的名稱。（hide是英國昔日之地積單價，相當于60至120 英畝不等）。
