either...or...意為"或者……或者……；不是……就是……"之意。表示兩者之一，連接句子中兩個(gè)并列的成分。例如：
When the girl is happy, she either sings or dances. 那個(gè)女孩高興時(shí)，不是唱就是跳。(此句中either...or...連接兩個(gè)動(dòng)詞，因?yàn)橹髡Z是單數(shù)第三人稱，謂語動(dòng)詞要用其相應(yīng)的形式。)

四、用作連詞。構(gòu)成短語 either…or… 與 neither…nor… ，分別表示“要么 …… 要么 …… ，或者 …… 或者 …… ”和“既不 …… 也不 …… ，既非 …… 也非 …… ”。常用來連接兩個(gè)并列成分，如并列主語、并列謂語等。但應(yīng)注意以下幾點(diǎn)：
1. 無論 either…or… 還是 neither…nor… ，在連接兩個(gè)并列的單數(shù)名詞作主語時(shí)，后面動(dòng)詞用單數(shù)。
2. 若連接兩個(gè)復(fù)數(shù)名詞作主語，后面動(dòng)詞用復(fù)數(shù)。
